A theodolite by Dennert & Pape of Hamburg, circa 1900
Brass, steel, nickel, glass, some of the metal surfaces blackened. The telescope with horizontal and vertical swivel function, a bubble tube and a finely scaled, full horizontal circle (one of the two reading magnifiers is missing), manufacturer's signature. Traces of use, drill holes of later date (unused) near the horizontal axis, the reticled eyepiece cloudy. Length of the telescope 28 cm. Total height 29.5 cm. Early precision instrument designed to measure angles.

Horizontal und vertikal schwenkbares Fernrohr mit Röhrenlibelle und fein skaliertem horizontalem Vollkreis (eine der zwei Ableselupen fehlt), darauf die Herstellersignatur. Gebrauchsspuren, nahe der horizontalen Achse spätere Bohrungen (vakant), Optik mit Fadenkreuz trüb. Länge des Fernrohrs 28 cm. Gesamthöhe 29,5 cm. Frühes Präzisionsinstrument zur Bestimmung von Winkelmaßen.
