WILKINS, Maurice (1916-2004). Autograph postcard signed (“M.H.F. Wilkins”) to Dr. L. Hamilton, Dr. R. Barclay & Coworkers, London, 1 September 1953.

83 x 138mm. On King’s College London postcard.

“They are the best [DNA] specimens we have had from anywhere.” Wilkins grows desperate waiting for more DNA samples and data from his friend Leonard Hamilton and begs Hamilton’s co-workers to assist him. In full: “Could you please let us know as soon as possible the source of the D.N.A. specimens: MAP III p.15 / DNA-X RB3-71. Both give excellent crystalline Xray pictures. We have used up nearly all of these specimens & would be most grateful if we could have 20 mgms or more as they are the best specimens we have had from anywhere.”
