THOMA, HANS (1839-1924), "Landschaft am Oberrhein", 1916, view of a wide summer landscape with the Rhine meandering through meadows and hills, in the foreground a shepherd couple on a hill and a flock of sheep in the valley, l.r. monogrammed and dated '1916 HTh', mixed media/canvas, HxW: approx. 50x75 cm (66x91 cm with frame). Signs of age and wear, a few slight dents, scratches on the right, yellowing of the varnish. With frame (slightly damaged). PROVENANCE: According to information from the consignor, acquired from Paul Hartmann (?) in 1939 and since then in a South German family property.
