THREE PORELAIN ALLEGORIES FROM A SERIES "THE FIVE SENSES".

Meissen.
Date: Before 1924.
Maker/Designer: Model J.F. Eberlein.
Technique: Porcelain, enriched in colours and gold.
Description: "Smell", "Taste" and "Hearing" each in antique robes, each standing on a rocaille pedestal
accompanied by characterising accessories.
Measurement: Height 27cm/27,5cm/28cm.
Mark: Swordsmark, 1042/1051/1062, porcelain former's no. 85/86/once without, painter's no. 7/twice 62.

Generally superficial soiling and minimal rubbing of the decor. Bossing no.. 85/86/once without, painting no.. 7/twice 62 a) The smell - All flowers and leaves broken off, bumped and/or restored. - Handle of the scent vessel broken off and missing. - Left forefinger broken off and missing. b) The taste - All leaves in fruit basket broken off and missing. - Plate on which the ham is lying bumped. - Spoon in the putto's hand broken off and missing. - Several small firing faults. c) The hearing - Horn restored. - Three buttons of the mandolin broken off and missing. - Right foot restored. - Right antler and tip of right ear broken off and clearly re-stucked. - End of the flying mantle hem on the back restored.
