Both a coming-of-age story as well as examination of racism and prejudice in the South, the novel was immensely popular and would win the 1961 Pulitzer Prize for fiction. To Kill a Mockingbird would be Lee's only published work until Go Set a Watchman was published in 2015.

Pictorial dust-jacket designed by Shirley Smith with Lee's photographic portrait by Truman Capote (some rubbing to spine panel ends and joints, small tear to spine panel just below author's name, front panel separating a little along joint, price-clipped).
