First edition which includes all three parts of the only work written by Giulio Troili, pupil of Francesco Gessi and Agostino Mitelli, under whose direction he perfected himself in the painting of architectural perspectives. "Le tavole sono espresse con chiarezza di disegno e intagliate in legno.. ed e uno dei migliori libri in questo genere" (Cicognara 866) "questo libro dovette ai suoi tempi fare scandalo segnando il trionfo di una spregiudicata intelligenza pratica" (Vinciana, 4425).
3 parts in one volume, folio (310 x 215mm). Arms of the dedicatees on title, full-page allegorical woodcut on verso, 66 full-page illustration in text, various other illustrations (browning and spotting). 19th-century half vellum with title on spine, uncut. Provenance: Emilio Gussalli (bookplate).
