TWO ANGLO-INDIAN EBONY AND SATINWOOD SMALL CHESTS

LATE 18TH/EARLY 19TH CENTURY, POSSIBLY CEYLON

Each with hinged top above three graduated long drawers, the near contemporary swept bracket feet probably added on arrival in Britain, one with turned ebony handles and bone inlaid medallions, the other with white-metal handles and escutcheons and amboyna inlaid medallions

The white-metal-mounted example: 22 ½ in. (57 cm.) high; 27 in. (68.5 cm.) wide; 16 in. (41 cm.) deep

The other: 21 in. (53.5 cm) high; 28 ¾ in (73 cm.) wide; 17 ½ in. (44.5 cm)
