First edition, presentation copy, inscribed by the composer on the title. Stravinsky and Thomas were due to collaborate on an opera together when, on his way to Hollywood, the poet passed away suddenly. ‘This was a terrible blow to me as well as to all those who knew Dylan Thomas’s genius’ (notes). Large quarto. Original printed card wrappers. Provenance: James P. J. Murphy (authorial presentation inscription on title dated 1955).
