Dreiteilig. Marmor, Holz und Mosaikeinlagen. Auf massivem, teilbeschnitztem und polychrom gefasstem Holzpodest, die eindrucksvoll gedrehte Säule mit bunten, teilvergoldeten Mosaiksteinen besetzt. Abschließendes geschnittenes Blattkapitell in Carrara-Marmor. Maße 148 x 33 x 33 cm. Leichte Altersspuren. Marmor minimal bestoßen.
Anmerkung: Bei Sotheby's in London am 03. Dezember 2014 unter Los 7 eine ganz ähnliche Säule aus dem 12./13. Jahrhundert als romanischer Osterleuchter für £ 146.500 verkauft.

An unusual marble column in Romanesque style, probably Venice, 19th century
Made of three parts. Marble, wood and mosaic inlays. Mounted on a solid, partially carved and brightly painted wooden pedestal, the impressive spiral column set with colourful, partially gilt mosaic stones. Topped with a chiselled leaf capital in Carrara marble. Dimensions 148 x 33 x 33 cm. Slight signs of age. Minor knocks in the marble.
Note: A very similar column, dating from the 12th/13th century, was sold by Sotheby's in London as a Romanesque Paschal candelabrum for £146,500 under lot 7 on 3 December 2014.

Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
