Sehr fein und detailreich gemalte, motiv- und stiltypische Ansicht. Vereshchagin war einer der bedeutendsten russischen Kriegsmaler seiner Zeit und neben Aivazovsky einer der ersten international anerkannten russischen Künstler. Vereshchagin studierte nach seinem Dienst in der kaiserlich russischen Marine 1860-1863 an der St. Petersburger Akademie und ab 1864 in Paris bei Jean-Léon Gérôme. 1867/68 nahm er an der Militär-Expedition von General Kaufmann nach Turkestan teil; 1871 ließ sich Vereshchagin in München nieder und führte seine mitgebrachten Studien und Skizzen zu Gemälden aus, welche die interessanten Architekturen der bucharischen Städte und Genremotive aus dem Volksleben wiedergeben. 1873 gab er eine Einzelausstellung seiner Werke im Crystal Palace in London, 1874 in St. Petersburg. Ende 1874 reiste er zu einer ausgedehnten Tour durch den Himalaya, nach Indien und Tibet, wo er über zwei Jahre auf Reisen verbrachte. Nach dem Russisch-türkischen Krieg 1877/78 ließ sich Vereshchagin erneut in München nieder und gelangte durch seine kontroversen Kriegsbilder zu internationalem Ruhm, die auf einer Ausstellungsreihe in Paris 1881 und anderen Städten zeigte. 1882/83 unternahm er eine zweite Reise nach Indien. In einer Reihe von in den 1870er/80er Jahren entstandenen Gemälden schilderte er indische Moscheen, dessen Architektur und Ornamentik ihn besonders faszinierten. After opening it, select the desired auction from the list, enter and view the current status of the interested lot.
The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
