Der Orden wurde am 7. Februar 1905 durch Papst Pius X. in seiner einklassigen Form errichtet und zunächst als Komturkreuz mit Bruststern verliehen. Aufgrund der Weigerung des Duce Benito Mussolinis im Januar 1932 den Orden anzunehmen, da er optisch einem Großoffiziers Satz gleich kam, wurde dem Komturkreuz eine Kollane des Ordens vom heiligen Sylvester oder der Goldenen Militz angefügt, was die Verleihung daraufhin möglich machte. Ein Nachweiß über den Fortfall der Kanonen unterhalb der Waffentrophäe und eine automatische Beifügung der Kette als Ordensbestandteil sind bis heute nicht durch Abänderung der Ordenstatuten erfolgt, jedoch spätestens während des Pontifikats von Papst Pius XII. nachweisbar. Papst Pius XI. zeichnete zwischen 1933 und dem Ende seines Pontifikats 7 Personen mit dem Orden vom Goldenen Sporn aus. Gemäß einer bekannten historischen Anekdote ist es den Trägern des Ordens gestattet, hoch zu Ross in eine Kirche einzureiten.

The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
