Bronze, patinated. Venus crouching over the tortoise, surprised at her bath. She extends her right hand through her curls to her left shoulder, the long towel in her left covering her naked body and a part of the intricately crafted tortoise. Gilt oval base. Height 24 cm. Made by a French master after Antoine Coysevox. The original marble Venus is exhibited in the Louvre (MR 1826).
Antoine Coysevox (1640 - 1720) was one of the most significant French sculptors of the high Baroque. Whilst working at the court of Louis XIV he also contributed to the design of the interior of the Palace of Versailles.

Bronze, patiniert. Über der Schildkröte hockende, beim Baden überraschte Venus. Ihre Rechte streckt sie durch die Locken in Richtung linker Schulter, das lange Tuch in der Linken verdeckt ihre Blöße und einen Teil der detailreich gearbeiteten Schildkröte. Vergoldeter ovaler Sockel. Höhe 24 cm. Werk eines französischen Meisters nach Antoine Coysevox. Die originale Marmorvenus befindet sich im Louvre (MR 1826).
Antoine Coysevox (1640 - 1720) war einer der bedeutendsten französischen Bildhauer des Hochbarock. Während seiner Tätigkeit am Hof Ludwigs XIV. beteiligte er sich an der Ausstattung von Schloss Versailles.

After opening it, select the desired auction from the list, enter and view the current status of the interested lot.
The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
