Bronze, vergoldet. Feine, naturalistische Darstellung eines sich aufbäumenden Hengstes auf einer runden Sockelscheibe, montiert auf einem detailliert gearbeiteten korinthischen Kapitell. Mehrteiliger antikisierender Sockel mit Verkleidung aus rötlichem Marmor, auf vier ebenfalls vergoldeten Bronzefüßen mit Akanthusdekor. Sockel stellenweise leicht bestoßen mit kleiner Ergänzung. Höhe der Figur (inkl. Kapitell) 31,2 cm, Gesamthöhe 45,8 cm.
In Artikel III eines Dekretes vom 11. Februar 1811 verfügte Joachim Napoleon Murat, zu der Zeit König von Neapel und beider Sizilien, wie die Fahnen seiner Truppen beschaffen sein sollten. Neben der farblichen Gestaltung legte er auch fest, dass die Fahnen als Spitze statt eines Adlers die vergoldete Bronzefigur eines steigenden Pferdes auf einem korinthischen Kapitell tragen sollten.

Gilded bronze. The fine, naturalistic depiction of a rearing stallion on a round base plate, mounted on an intricately detailed Corinthian capital. Multi-piece, antique-style pedestal with panelling of reddish marble, standing on four bronze feet, also gilt, with acanthus ornaments. The pedestal slightly knocked in places, with a small addition. Height of the figure (including the capital) 31.2 cm, overall height 45.8 cm. In Article III of a decree dated 11 February 1811, Joachim Napoleon Murat, at the time King of Naples and the Two Sicilies, stipulated the design that flags carried by his troops were to have. In addition to the colour scheme, he also decreed that the flags would have the gilt bronze figure of a rearing stallion on a Corinthian capital as a finial, rather than an eagle.
