Rechteckige Kassette aus feuervergoldetem Messingblech auf vier Balusterfüßen. Deckel und Seiten mit fein graviertem Schachbrettmuster. Vernietete Kantenverstärkungen, an den Seitenkanten durchbrochen gearbeitete verschraubte Zierbeschläge (Fehlstellen). Der scharniergelagerte Deckel mit verschiebbarer Schlüssellochabdeckung und beweglichem Tragebügel. Innenliegende Schlossmechanik mit Resten von Bläuung, drei Zuhaltungen, Kapelle locker. Eiserner Hohldornschlüssel mit Dreipassreide. Maße 5,7 x 7,3 x 4,5 cm, Gewicht 167 g.
A southern German gilt miniature casket in the style of Michel Mann, circa 1620
Rectangular casket of fire-gilt sheet brass on four baluster-shaped feet. Lid and sides with finely engraved chessboard pattern. Riveted edge reinforcements, the lateral edges decorated with screw-mounted openwork fittings (flaws). The hinged lid with sliding keyhole cover and movable suspension bar. Internal lock mechanism with remnants of bluing, three latches, chaplet loose. Iron hollow shank key with trefoil bow. Dimensions 5.7 x 7.3 x 4.5 cm, weight 167 g.
