A Chinese Buddhist Tara bronze statuette, 19th - early 20th c.
The female figure Tara in typical seated pose on a bronze lotus base. Hollow casting and cold reworked. Decorated with small, cut, coloured glass stones, some of which are lost due to age. The base closed with a copper plate. Intact. Height 22 cm.

Provenance: From the estate of a German private collection. Acquired in the 1st half and middle of the 20th century in Asia.

Die weibliche Figur Tara in typischer sitzender Pose auf einem Bronze-Lotussockel. Hohlguss und kalt nachgearbeitet. Mit kleinen, geschliffenen, farbigen Glassteinen geschmückt, von denen einige altersbedingt verloren sind. Der Boden mit einer Kupferplatte, die Durchbruchsarbeit aufweist, verschlossen. Intakt. Höhe 22 cm.
