7 pcs, Villeroy & Boch, Mettlach, 1987/88, porcelain, metallic blue iridescent finish, 'Blue Magic' tea service from the 'Spirit of the USA' design project by Villeroy & Boch in collaboration with the University of Applied Arts in Vienna, nine students from the master class for ceramics/product design under the direction of Prof. Dr. Mattheo Thun developed and produced their own tableware collection in a limited edition of a maximum of 50 pieces per series as unique pieces (as a rule, the number of 50 pieces was not reached). The 'Blue Magic' service by designer Ingrid Smolle (1957 St. Veit an der Glan, Austria) was based on the theme of 'extraterrestrial visions of earthly desires'. 1 coffee pot, height 15 cm, 3 cups, height 8.5 cm and 3 dessert plates, Ø 20.8 cm, with manufacturer's mark and inscription on the underside, condition B, milk jug and sugar bowl absent, 1 handle of a cup broken and glued, copy of literature enclosed
