A charming Byzantine bird figure, bronze, 6th - 7th century
Stylised, slender bird with a long neck, in the beak a fish (the front side of which is missing). The plumage structured by simple geometric incised decoration. Below the claws fastening construction to be able to fix the figure in lead casting (remains preserved). The right claw on the right foot is missing, otherwise intact. Beautiful patina. Height 11 cm.

Eindrucksvolle Vogelfigur, Bronze, byzantinisch, 6. - 7. Jhdt.
Stilisierter schlanker Vogel mit langem Hals, im Schnabel ein Fisch (dessen Vorderseite fehlt). Das Gefieder durch einfachen geometrischen Ritzdekor strukturiert. Unterhalb der Krallen Befestigungskonstruktion, um die Figur in Bleiverguss (Reste erhalten) fixieren zu können. Rechte Kralle am rechten Fuß fehlt, sonst intakt. Schöne Patina. Höhe 11 cm.

Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
