15 Holztafeln verbunden mit Messingscharnieren. Kowtscheg, Tempera auf Kreidegrund. Mittlere Tafel umgeben von jeweils sieben Flügeln mit Spitzbogenabschluss. Dargestellt sind die Königstür mit den vier Evangelisten, die Verkündigung und das Letzte Abendmahl. Darüber die Kreuzigung Christi und sein Hadesgang. Am oberen Rand thront die Gottesmutter Znamenie umgeben von den Königen David und Salomon. Die Flügel weisen jeweils einen Aufbau mit fünf übereinanderliegenden Registern auf. In den Spitzbögen und dem darunter folgenden Register sind Propheten des Alten Testaments dargestellt. Darunter folgt ein Register mit vielen Heiligen. Das nächste Register zeigt 14 Hochfeste des orthodoxen Kirchenjahres. Das unterste Register zeigt im Sinne einer erweiterten Deesis die Gottesmutter und Johannes, Erzengel und weitere Heilige. Retuschen, Fehlstellen. Maße 142 x 53 cm (geöffnet).
A complete Russian travelling folding iconostasis, early 19th century
15 wooden panels connected with brass hinges. Kovcheg, tempera on gesso. The central panel surrounded by seven wings with a lancet arch at the top on each side. A representation of the royal door with the four Evangelists, the Annunciation and the Last Supper. Above which, the Crucifixion and the Descent of Christ into Hell. The Mother of God of the Sign at the top edge, flanked by the Kings David and Salomon. The wings each grouped in five overlapping rows. Prophets from the Old Testament are shown in the lancet arches and the row immediately below, followed by a row with numerous saints. Next, a row with 14 feasts from the Orthodox Church year. As the extended Deisis, the lowest row depicting the Mother of God, St. John the Baptist, archangels and other saints. Retouching, some damage. Dimensions 142 x 53 cm (opened).
