Kleiner Wagen mit vier beweglichen Speichenrädern (ein Rad ergänzt). Darauf das miteinander kämpfende Gladiatorenpaar Thrax (mit kleinerem Schild und Beinschienen) gegen Murmillo (großer Schild). Blei mit gräulicher Patina. Breite 8 cm. In dieser spektakulären Form extrem seltene Gladiatorendarstellung.

Provenienz: US-amerikanische Privatsammlung. Erworben bei Hermann Historica, Auktion 50, Lot 1483. Zuvor süddeutsche Privatsammlung.

A Roman minature votive wagon with two fighting gladiators, 1st - 2nd century A.D.
Lead with grey patina. A small wagon with four moveable spoked wheels (one wheel a replacement). It bears two fighting gladiators with helmets and large, rectangular shields. Width 8 cm. Extremely rare, complete representation of gladiators.

Provenance: US private collection, acquired at Hermann Historica, auction 50, lot 1483, who received it from a South German collection.
