Rückseitig Klebeetikett mit Nummerierung 479. Links unten signiert. Öl auf Holz. 37,5 x 47,3 cm. Restaurierung. Rahmen min. beschädigt Tina Blau besuchte nach einer ersten Ausbildung in ihrer Geburtsstadt von 1869 bis 1873 die Münchner Akademie und war dort Schülerin Wilhelm Lindenschmits d. J. 1873/74 hielt sie sich in der Malerkolonie in Szolnok/Ungarn auf, ab 1874 arbeitete sie im Wiener Prater in Ateliergemeinschaft mit Emil Jakob Schindler (vgl. Katalog-Nr. 73). Zahlreiche Reisen führten sie nach Italien, Holland, Paris und Venedig. 1883 heiratete sie den Maler Heinrich Lang und zog nach München, bevor sie 1893 nach Wien zurückkehrte. Bereits gegen Ende der 1860er Jahre gelangte Tina Blau unter dem Einfluss der französischen Freilichtmalerei zu einem atmosphärischen Kolorismus, den sie dennoch mit einer realistischen Komponente verband. Dieser sehr eigenständige Stil zeichnet bereits die frühen ungarischen und holländischen Landschaften aus. Ihre Arbeiten stießen auch international auf großes Interesse, 1883 wurde sie vom französischen Kultusminister zur Teilnahme am Pariser Salon eingeladen. Stilistisch stand Tina Blau dem österreichischen Stimmungsimpressionismus um Emil Jakob Schindler zwar nahe, doch im Gegensatz zum direkten Kreis um Schindler ist Blaus Schaffen gekennzeichnet von einem stärker realistischen denn lyrischen Zug, ihr Umgang mit der malerischen Form ist kräftig und frei, was ihre Gemälde auch im internationalen Vergleich bestehen ließ und lässt.
