Nr. 2508, nummerngleich. Blanker Lauf, Länge 5". Siebenschüssig. Beschuss. Fertigung 1913. Flieger-Drehvisier skaliert 50 - 100 - 150 - 200 Yards. Hahnsicherung. Griffsicherung. Nut für Anschlagschaft. Links am Verschluss dreizeilig bezeichnet "Webley & Scott Ltd / Pistol Self-Loading 455 Mark I / 1913", darunter mittels Reißnadel "93/652" von Fa. Kynoch. Rechts inventarisiert mit "577". Div. Abnahmen broad arrow. Originale Brünierung, Tragespuren meist nur links am Verschluss, dünner an der Griffsicherung. Fehlerlose schwarze Hartgummigriffschalen. Magazin mit beidseitig sechs großen Sichtlöchern, auf der Rückseite zwei Löcher für Einzelschuss. Fangring. Dazu das Nussholz-Anschlagbrett als Replik. Ursprünglich entwickelt für das Royal Flying Corps, es gab noch keine Maschinenwaffen. Gesamtfertigung 439 Stück, davon mit Anschlagschaft für die RHA. Vgl. u.a. SN. 2508, matching numbers. Barrel length 5", bright bore. Seven shots. Proof marks. Made in 1913. Rotary rear sight for aerial combat graduated 50 - 100 - 150 - 200 Yards. Hammer safety, stock slot. The left side of the slide marked "Webley & Scott Ltd / Pistol Self-Loading 455 Mark I / 1913", underneath manually engraved Kynoch factory inv. number "93/652", the right sight marked "577". Various broad arrow acceptance marks. Original finish, a few signs of wear left of the slide, some thing on the grip safety. Impeccable black hard-rubber grips. Magazine with 6 large windows on both sides, two openings in the rear for single shots. Lanyard ring. Walnut shoulder board (reproduction). This is one of only 439 Model 1913 pistols manufactured for the Royal Horse Artillery. Some were delivered to the Royal Flying Corps for aerial combat prior to the availability of machine guns.
