A Byzantine polycandelon, 6th century
Openwork disc with six large round rings for inserting glass lamps. These rings are connected by bars to a central ring. Three of the bars with a cross motif. The suspension consists of three chains which end in a suspension device at the top. Very good bronze substance with beautiful patina. Intact. Length 54 cm.

Durchbrochen gearbeitete Scheibe mit sechs großen runden Ringen zum Einsetzen von Glaslampen. Diese Ringe sind durch Stege mit einem zentralen Ring verbunden. Drei der Stege mit Kreuzmotiv. Das Gehänge besteht aus drei Ketten, die oben in eine Aufhängevorrichtung münden. Sehr gute Bronzesubstanz mit schöner Patina. Intakt. Länge 54 cm.
