2012. Farbige Kunststoffolie und Filzstift/Papier. 50 x 72 cm. R. u. handsign. und dat. Werner Berges 2012, l. u. betitelt. Zustand Kleine Fehlstelle. - Provenienz: Aus der Sammlung einer Freundin des Künstlers in Oldenburg; Privatsammlung Hamburg. - Einer der Hauptvertreter der Pop-Art in Deutschland. B. studierte 1960-65 an der Kunstschule in Bremen und an der Hochschule für Bildende Künste in Berlin. Das bestimmende Thema seines Werkes wurde ab Ende der 60er Jahre der weibliche Körper. Seine Motive entnahm er immer wieder aus Werbung und Gebrauchsgraphik und gestaltete sie in seinem typisch Stil. Dabei reduzierte er sie extrem im Detail und fasste sie und zu großen Flächen zusammen, häufig in Primärfarben. Den plakativen Eindruck verstärkte er noch durch schwarze Konturen. Mus.: Köln (Mus. Ludwig), Hannover (Sprengel-Mus.), Ludwigshafen (Wilhelm-Hack-Museum), Berlin, Dresden, Oldenburg, Freiburg u.a.
