Die ausgesprochen luxuriöse Wohnung umfasste zehn Zimmer, weitere zugehörige Räume in der 2. Etage, Kellerräume und einen Gartenanteil. Die Miete betrug vierteljährlich 1.500 Mark. Der Mietvertrag ist unterschrieben von Röntgen selber als "Dr.W.C.Röntgen K.Geh.Rath", der Prinz ließ sich vertreten durch seinen Adjutanten Oberst Freiherr von Reitzenstein. Außerdem verschiedene Korrespondenz zur Mietsache, Quittungen zu Mietzahlungen etc. Es handelt sich um den nach fünf Jahren erneuerten Mietvertrag. Ursprünglich war Röntgen bereits am 1. April 1900 eingezogen, nachdem ihn die Universität München als ordentlichen Professor für Physik engagiert hatte. Zudem wurde Röntgen Vorstand des Physikalischen Instituts und Konservator des Physikalisch-Metronomischen Instituts des Staates. Nach dem 1. Weltkrieg trübte sich das Verhältnis Röntgens zu seinem königlichen Vermieter, da der Prinz, in den Revolutionswirren ausgewiesen aus Schloss Nymphenburg und sozusagen obdachlos, versuchte, seine Villa an der Prinzregentenstraße wieder selber zu beziehen.Provenienz: Hermann Historica, 52.
