1930. Öl/Holz. 38 x 46 cm. Rechts unten signiert und datiert Kohlhoff 30. Kleine Farbverluste. - Deutscher Maler. K. machte 1909 eine Ausbildung als Porzellanmaler bei KPM in Berlin und besuchte ab 1910 die Unterrichtsanstalt des Kunstgewerbemuseums in Berlin. 1913 begann eine fruchtbare Zusammenarbeit mit Bruno Krauskopf, 1914 stellte er erstmal auf der Großen Berliner Kunstausstellung, ab 1917 auch bei der Berliner Sezession aus und erhielt den Großen Preussischen Staatspreis. Auf Einladung der türkischen Regierung arbeitete er 1935 in der Trükei an einem Denkmal für Atatürk. Etliche seiner Gemälde wurden von den Nationalsozialisten 1937 als 'entartet' aus Museen entfernt. K. gelang es, sich mit Wandmalereien über Wasser zu halten und konnte nach dem Krieg an sein früheres Schaffen anknüpfen.
