Statuette eines vornehmen Herrn
Elfenbein, vollplastisch geschnitzt. Dunkelbraun gebeizter Holzsockel mit Rosetten und Kerbschnittdekor. Im Detail sehr fein ausgeführte Figur eines Herrn in Barock-Tracht mit langer Jacke, Weste und Kniebundhosen, das gelockte Haar mit langem Zopf, auf dem Kopf eine Mütze. Stil und Motiv der Figur lassen auf eine Dresdener Arbeit aus dem Umkreis bzw. der Nachfolge Krügers schließen, der ab 1711 für die Kunstkammer August des Starken und für Zar Peter den Großen tätig war und 1733 zum Hofschnitzer ernannt wurde. Neben Werken Krügers selbst lässt sich die Statuette mit einer Reihe Dresdener Genrefiguren aus dem 1. Drittel des 18 Jahrhunders vergleichen, die sich aus altem herzoglichem Besitz im Staatl. Museum Schwerin erhalten haben. Hut und Fuß minim beschädigt Ornamental geschnitzter, ebonisierter Sockel. Figuren- H. 11,5 cm. Ges.-H. 18 cm.
