Graue Aquarell- und Deckfarbe auf cremefarbenem Papier, rechts unten handschriftlich signiert "Willy Stöwer 1917". Beflaggte deutsche Kriegsschiffe an Küste. Unter Passepartout und Glas, in hölzernem Profilrahmen (Maße 39 x 52 cm). Dazu ein Umschlag, mit Kugelschreiber beschriftet "Eroberung der Baltischen Inseln Moon, Dagö und Ösel am 11.10.1917 Einfahrt in die Faga-Bucht gemalt von dem Marinemaler Willy Stöwer / Geschenk an Seine Excellenz Herrn Vizeadmiral Erhard Schmidt, von diesem geschenkt an Klaus Ferber, Kptn. z. S.". Darin das originale Übersendungsschreiben an Schmidt, datiert 10.12.1917 ("Die Crew bittet dich als bescheidenen Ausdruck unserer herzlichen Verehrung das Schwarz-Weiß-Bild anzunehmen auf dem Willy Stöwer einen bezeichnenden Abschnitt der Landungskämpfe darzustellen sucht. Diese Handzeichnung ist das Urbild zu dem in der Leipziger Illustrirten Zeitung erschienenen"). Dazu ein späteres Bild, in der gleichen Technik ausgeführt und links unten signiert "Frank H. Mason" (britischer Marinemaler 1875 - 1965), unter Passepartout und Glas, in hölzernem Profilrahmen (Maße 56 x 72 cm). Rahmen stellenweise leicht beschädigt, Papprücken später beschriftet und beklebt, Risse im Brief, Gebrauchs- und Altersspuren.
Kaiser Wilhelm II. war ein Förderer Stöwers und besaß mehrere seiner Werke. Außerdem begleitete Stöwer den Kaiser auf Schiffsreisen. Meisterhafte eigenhändige Originale.
