Superbe exemplaire en maroquin rouge aux armes de la famille Rothschild. Il s'agit de la première édition française de cet ouvrage d'architecture, parue conjointement à l'édition anglaise. Après un premier voyage en 1742, Wood entreprit une seconde expédition vers le Levant en 1750, accompagné de James Dawkins, qui rédigea le rapport officiel du voyage, et de l'architecte Giovanni Battista Borra, en charge des plans et dessins. Cohen-de Ricci, col. 916 ; Blackmer, n° 1834.
In-folio (545 x 368 mm). Illustré de 57 planches gravées d'après les dessins de Borra, Dawkins et Wood (les 3 parties de la planche 1 représentant une vue générale des ruines de Palmyre, occupant habituellement 3 feuillets, ont été réunies et la planche dépliante ainsi constituée est montée sur onglet). Les feuillets Z, Aa, Bb et Cc sont intercalés entre les planches. Reliure de l'époque : maroquin rouge, triple filet doré en encadrement des plats et fleurons aux angles, armes de la famille Rothschild avec leur devise au centre des plats, dos à nerfs orné de petits fers dorés, pièce de titre en maroquin blond, tranches dorées, double filet doré sur les coupes.

The results of the auction are published within a few days after the end of the auction. In the top menu of the site, find the tab "Auctions". Click on it and you will be on the auction catalog page, where you can easily find the category "Results". After opening it, select the desired auction from the list, enter and view the current status of the interested lot.
The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. In the near future you will find detailed information for each case in the section "Auction information" on the page of the auction catalog and the lot.
Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
