NOTE:
Wu Han, alternatively named Cangcan, is the second son of Wu Changshuo (1844-1927). Inheriting the talent in and dedication to art from his father, Wu mastered ancient literature and calligraphy. He was also good at writing poems and essays. He executed his work in a style so similar to Wu Changshuo’s that he was able to stand in for his elderly father. He was expatriated by the Republic government and returned to Shanghai in 1922. He died from an illness soon after that.
