Feines Tuch mit farbiger Darstellung des Blue Dragon und der flammroten Perle der dreibeinigen Krähe auf gelbem Grund. Alle vier Seiten gesäumt. Maße 120 x 150 cm. Extrem seltene Fahne der letzten chinesischen Herrscher-Dynastie. Bis 1888 gab es keine offizielle Nationalfahne in China, eine dreieckige Standarte mit dem Blue Dragon existierte zwar für den Marine- und Regierungsgebrauch, doch erst bei der Überführung zweier Cruiser von Großbritannien nach China im Jahr 1881 fiel dem chinesischen General Li Hongzhang auf, dass eine Dreiecksstandarte auf Kriegsschiffen international ungewöhnlich war, alle seefahrenden Nationen aber rechteckige Nationalflaggen verwendeten. Die kaiserliche Standarte der Qing Dynasty wurde daraufhin in rechteckiger Form für die Marine eingeführt, und 1888 entschied sich die Kaiserin Dowager Cixi auch für die Einführung dieser Flagge als Nationalflagge.
