Lachsfarbenes Seidentuch mit Darstellung des Blue Dragon sowie der flammroten Perle der dreibeinigen Krähe in hochwertiger Seidenstickerei. Dreiseitig gesäumt, die Liekseite mit weißem Hohlsaum aus Leinen. Maße ca. 80 x 50 cm.
Extrem seltene Fahne der letzten chinesischen Herrscher-Dynastie. Bis 1888 gab es keine offizielle Nationalflagge in China, eine dreieckige Standarte mit dem Blue Dragon existierte zwar für den Marine- und Regierungsgebrauch, doch erst bei der Überführung zweier Cruiser von Großbritannien nach China im Jahr 1881 fiel dem chinesischen General Li Hongzhang auf, dass eine Dreiecksstandarte auf Kriegsschiffen international ungewöhnlich war, alle seefahrenden Nationen stattdessen rechteckige Nationalflaggen verwendeten. Die kaiserliche Standarte der Qing Dynasty wurde daraufhin in rechteckiger Form für die Marine eingeführt und 1888 entschied sich die Kaiserin Dowager Cixi auch für die Einführung dieser Flagge als Nationalflagge.
