В трехцветной орнаментированной издательской обложке. Утрата задней сторонки обложки, утрата фрагментов обложки и корешка, корешок заклеен скотчем, отдельные страницы отходят от блока, типографский деффект с 117—118, страница с оглавлением с утратой угла. Хорошая сохранность блока.
Вторая часть автобиографической трилогии содержит 56 очерков, посвященных отрочеству автора. Среди героев книги —литераторы и артисты, а события развиваются в Петербурге, Кисловодске и других городах накануне и во время Первой мировой войны.
Софья Артемьевна Зайцева (урожд. Аванова, 1899—1945) — камерная певица, прозаик, жена священника Кирилла Зайцева (впоследствии — архимандрит Константин). Родилась в Санкт-Петербурге в армянской семье. Выпускница гимназии императрицы Марии Федоровны в Петрограде (1916). Эмигрировала с армией Деникина в Константинополь, позже жила в Праге. Училась пению в Берлине (1922—1924) и в Париже (1925—1930). После замужества переехала из Парижа в Китай. В Маньчжурии выступала с сольными концертами, пела на Харбинском радио. Скончалась в госпитале Православной миссии в Китае в Бей-Гуан (Пекин) от туберкулеза легких.
