Lot 16 | ZEPPELIN - Persönliche Schenkung des Grafen Ferdinand v. Zeppelin
| ZEPPELIN - Personal gift from Count Ferdinand v. Zeppelin (1838-1917), extremely rare! Art Nouveau ensemble made of precious copper and precious brass with tray, large jug and 6 cups, which once belonged to Count Ferdinand v. Zeppelin heard. It can be assumed that the count's fingerprints are still on it. The Count presented the ensemble to the Brugger miller family. The Brugger family had sold the site of their former Meistershofen mill near Friedrichshafen to the Count around 1908 in order to build the well-known Zeppelin village. Graf Zeppelin paid around 20,000 gold marks for it and there was even a free Zeppelin flight to America. In addition, Count Zeppelin personally presented Mother Maria Brugger with the Art Nouveau tray with the jug and mugs. According to statements, the gift was not even touched, but only admired. It was always kept in a glass case in the mill because of its dignity. This object is so interesting and unique in itself precisely because there is hardly anything personal about the count. The provenance has been handed down without gaps and was well documented by the descendants. Tray L approx. 36 cm, mug H approx. 9 cm, jug H approx. 30 cm. Slight scratch marks, some patina. Overall very good condition.
