The work describes in detail the steps of the exceptional engineering feat that brought back the warship La Fenice, which sank in the Spignon Canal in April 1783 due to the excessive weight of the cannons loaded to arm it

4to (275 x 195mm). Engraved frontispiece, 7 folding plates bound at end (top corner restored, some waterstaining at outer margin). Contemporary boards, label with shelf location at bottom of spine. Provenance: Biblioteca Camaldolese, Rua (19th-century stamp). The "eremo" was finally closed in 1876 and its belongins dispersed.
