Fein geschnitzte Heiligenfiguren aus Pappelholz (?). Darstellung des Brückenheiligen St. Nepomuk (1350 - 1393), ein Kruzifix im Arm und mit dem typischen härenen Mantel angetan, dazu eine Figur des Hl. Franz Xaver (1506 - 1542), eines der Mitbegründer der Societas Iesu (Jesuitenorden). Beide Figuren mit mehrfachen Reparaturen, kleineren Rissen und Ergänzungen. Auf gestuften, mehrteiligen Sockeln, rückseitig angebrachte Schraubösen. Höhe 37 und 38 cm.

Two Southern German/Franconian figurines of Saints, 18th century
Finely carved figurines of two saints, probably made of poplar. One figurine representing John of Nepomuk (1350 - 1393), the protector from floods, carrying a cross, wearing his typical priestly dress. The other figurine representing Saint Franz Xaver (1506 - 1542), one of the founding fathers of the Society of Jesus (aka the Jesuit Order).
Both figurines with some restorations and additions and some minor cracks. Both on stepped pedestals and with an eyelet ring screwed into their backs. Heights 37 and 38 cm.

Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
