TWO CARVED IVORY OKIMONO OF EBISU AND DAIKOKU - Japan, one signed: Shûgetsu, Meijj / Taisho Period - Both carved in standing position. Ebisu, flanked by a large sea brass, is holding the staff of his fishing rod, Daikoku is carrying a small rat in his right hand and a large hammer in the other hand. Ivory, partly stained with polychrome colours. - From a South German private collection, since more than 30 years with the present owners - The sales permit for this lot is available - Partyl minor wear and only few small age cracks, the fishing rod chipped
H. 16-17 cm
Beide Glücksgötter wurden stehend dargestellt. Ebisu mit seiner großen Meerbrasse hält in seinen Händen den Stab seiner Angel. Daikoku hält in seiner linken, erhobenen Hand seinen Hammer und in seiner Rechten eine kleine Ratte. Elfenbein, teils polychrom gefasst.
