Lot 1987 | Two silver crossbow fibulae, Roman, 1. - 2. Century ad
Two silver cast crossbow fibulae with tubular hinge. In the case of the smaller (but minimally prolonged) the Button on the head end of the bracket remnants of gilding. The foot-side end of the bracket is wrapped with gold wire. Both fibulae are intact and in good condition. Length 5.5 cm and 5.6 cm. Provenance: From a in the South of Germany retained private collection. Purchased in the 1970s to the 1980s, the art market and German private collections. Condition: II
