UNOVIS

UNOVIS (УНОВИС), known as Approvers of the new art (russian: "Утвердители нового искусства") or the Advocates of New Art, was a pioneering avant-garde art collective founded by Kazimir Malevich in Vitebsk, Belarus. Established at the Vitebsk Art School in 1919, the group initially included a cadre of students and was originally named MOLPOSNOVIS, which later evolved into UNOVIS under Malevich's leadership.

This group was short-lived, existing only until 1922, but its influence on Russian art was profound and long-lasting. UNOVIS's mission was to explore and develop new ideas about art, contributing significantly to the avant-garde movements of the early 20th century.
