Hannes Harrs

Hannes Harrs was a German painter, sculptor and graphic artist who worked in South Africa.

Harrs was fascinated by African culture since childhood and moved to South Africa in 1950. This love for its people and culture became the center of his work. His abstract works carry clear influences from different parts of Africa.

Harrs has worked in almost all techniques including oil, drawing, sculpture and mixed media. He is represented by many galleries and museums in South Africa and beyond.
