Fernando Gerassi was a Turkish-born American artist who exhibited with Pablo Picasso before volunteering for the Spanish Civil War.

Fernando Gerassi moved to the United States at the beginning of the Second World War. From 1944 to 1964, the artist was persecuted by the CIA. Gerassi's early work was influenced by Stanislas Stückhold and Paul Cézanne.
