George Romney was an English portrait painter. He was the most fashionable artist of his day, painting many leading society figures – including his artistic muse, Emma Hamilton, mistress of Lord Nelson.
Oene Romkes de Jongh was a 19th century Dutch landscape painter. He is known for his detailed urban views. He painted mainly landscapes of Amsterdam and domestic scenes around Lake Eijsselmer. De Jongh was particularly influenced by Cornelis Springer.
Albert Flamm was a German artist of the Düsseldorf school. He studied architecture at the Dusseldorf Academy of Art and in Antwerp. In 1841 he turned to painting and became a pupil of Andreas Achenbach. In 1848 Flamm became one of the founders of the Malkasten artists' association.
Albert Flamm painted mainly Italian landscapes, recognised for their truthfulness of nature, their vivid colours and their virtuosic treatments. He often chose an elevated viewing position to be able to create wide panoramic perspectives in warm, bright sunlight and with finely rendered detail.
Giovanni Paolo Pannini (Panini) was an Italian painter and architect who worked in Rome and is primarily known as one of the vedutisti. As a painter, Panini is best known for his vistas of Rome, in which he took a particular interest in the city's antiquities. Among his most famous works are his view of the interior of the Pantheon (on behalf of Francesco Algarotti), and his vedute — paintings of picture galleries containing views of Rome. Most of his works, especially those of ruins, have a fanciful and unreal embellishment characteristic of capriccio themes. In this they resemble the capricci of Marco Ricci. Panini also painted portraits, including one of Pope Benedict XIV.
