Anatoli Lvovich Kaplan, born Tanhum Leivikovich (Russian: Анатолий Львович Каплан, Yiddish: תנחום קאפלאן), was a Russian artist, sculptor and printmaker of the Soviet period whose work often reflects his Jewish origins. He graduated in 1926 from the painting department of the Higher Art and Technical Institute in Leningrad, being a pupil of A.A. Rylov and N.E. Radlov. Anatoly Kaplan authored a series of drawings and lithographs based on the works of Sholom Aleichem, he created ceramics on Jewish themes and was involved in decorating interiors. His works are in various museums and private collections all over the world.
