John Frederick Herring Jr. was an English painter who is best known for his equine art.
Charles Towne was an English painter of landscapes, horses and other animals, horse-racing and hunting scenes.
John E. Ferneley was an English artist who specialised in depicting sport horses and hunting scenes. Although his rendition of horses was stylised, he is regarded as one of the great British equine artists, second perhaps only to George Stubbs.
Kurt-Hermann Kühn is a German painter and graphic artist. He trained as a decorator and studied from 1946 to 1952 at the Academy of Graphic Arts and Printing in Leipzig and in Berlin at the Academy of Fine and Applied Arts.
Kurt-Hermann Kühn travelled to Syria and Egypt. These journeys are reflected in many of his paintings. Alessandro Magnasco was an Italian painter, one of the most prominent representatives of Genoese Mannerism. In his time he was better known under the nickname Lissandrino (il Lissandrino).
Magnasco painted pictures of nature: grandiose ancient ruins, romantic waterfalls, gorges, forest huts - landscapes populated by small figures of vagabonds in rags, soldiers, travelling monks and beggars with characteristic elongated proportions, walking woodcutters, porters, laundresses. Magnasco's style was close to the searches of Venetian painters of the 18th century.
