Fritz Klimsch was a German sculptor of the first half of the twentieth century. He is known as a brilliant representative of Art Nouveau and Classicism. Klimsch was one of the founders of the association of Berlin artists and sculptors "Berlin Secession".
Fritz Klimsch is best known for his sculptural works depicting nudes of women. Among his masterpieces are also monumental and grave monuments.
Fritz Klimsch was the most famous, but by no means the only representative of the family dynasty of German artists. His close relatives, in particular his grandfather Ferdinand Karl Klimsch, his father Eugen Klimsch, and his brothers Karl Klimsch and Paul Klimsch, also made significant contributions to the development of European art.
Georg Engst was a German sculptor.
Engst preferred to work in wood, stone and bronze, but also in aluminium, concrete and glass. Much of his artistic work from the mid-1950s onwards is abstract-geometric in character, initially in the form of inlaid panels and inlaid walls made of wood, for example for a commission for the conference room of the Regional Church Office in Hanover in 1957.
Rudolf Kaesbach was a German sculptor.
Rudolf Kaesbach studied at the academies of Hanau (drawing), Paris (foundry) and Brussels. In Düsseldorf he ran a workshop in which he cast his own models.
After 1904, Rudolf Kesbach presented a series of life-size marble figures to the public at exhibitions in Berlin, Düsseldorf and Malmö. Later he devoted himself increasingly to the depiction of nude women. Much of his work took him beyond Art Nouveau to Art Deco.
In 1939, 1940, 1941 and 1943, Kiesbach exhibited his sculptures at the Great German Art Exhibitions in Munich. These exhibitions were representative under National Socialism.
François-Raoul Larche was a French Art Nouveau sculptor whose work included several figures of Christ, but who may be better known for his numerous female figures, both nude and draped.
He was one of several artists inspired by the dancer Loie Fuller; one of his best-known statues depicts Fuller dancing with part of her drapery billowing above and behind her head like a flame.
Hermann Hugo Otto Poertzel was a German sculptor and modeller.
