During the National Socialist rule in Germany from 1938 to 1944, Weisgerber was represented at all major exhibitions of German art in Munich with paintings in keeping with the taste of the Nazi era. Hitler purchased several Weisgerber paintings in 1938 and Martin Bormann in 1944.
