MARK OF JOHN WHITE, LONDON, 1734

Oval on pierced spreading foot, the sides pierced and engraved with foliate branches framing four cartouches, the centre engraved with a band of diaper and scrolls, with Vitruvian scroll and corded rim and swing handle chased with diaperwork and rosettes, engraved with the King crest below a baron's coronet on the swing handle and on two cartouches and with a male or female portrait bust in the other two, marked underneath and on swing handle

12 3/4 in. (32.4 cm.) wide

80 oz. 16 dwt. (2,267 gr.)

The crest is that of King for John, 2nd Lord King and Baron of Ockham (1705/6-1740) the eldest son and heir of Lord Chancellor King, 1st Baron King (1669-1734).
