Each baluster shaped on spreading circular gadrooned foot, the body and cover with stylised fluted shells and leaves, the shoulder applied with four open handles joined by shells, the detachable cover with baluster conch finial, engraved on body with a coat-of-arms and motto within Rococo cartouche, the cover with a crest, marked under base and on one cover, one cover engraved with scratchweight 13=17

The arms are those of Edgcumbe, with the cadency mark of a crescent denoting a second son, for George Edgcumbe (1720-1795), later 3rd Baron Edgcumbe and 1st Earl of Mount Edgcumbe.
