Nicolai: A Great European', the typescript still present;

five letters and cards to the furniture designer and political activist Francis Jourdain, writing on 13 May 1932 and 15 June 1933 to protest against Jourdain's unauthorised use of his name in an appeal for the defence of the USSR, which he judges too melodramatic, and a declaration against the Greek government; and on 18 August and 11 December 1933, about their campaign against the Reichstag Fire Trial, 'tous pour Dimitroff, Torgler et les deux autres accusés', and other campaigns, 'Je vous engage à demander à Gide de rédiger l'appel pour les Indo-Chinois'.

individual letters to the musicologists Julien Tiersot (1909, posing questions on Italian composers) and Louis Laloy (1911, mentioning 'un petit ouvrage sur Tolstoy'), Edward St John Mildmay (1912), Luigi Chazari (1924, on Gandhi, 'cet homme extraordinaire qui soulève la nouvelle Asie'), Benjamin Grosbayne (1929), Albin Michel (4 cards, 1934, on proofs for L'âme enchantée), C.F. Peters music publishers (1934, ordering music), 'camarade Vari' (1937), Renaud de Jouvenel (1939), Alfred Wolfenstein (16 May 1942, 'Je n'ai pas bougé d'ici, depuis trois ans, sauf pour de courts séjours à Paris', and on his current work);

letters to unidentified correspondents discussing matters relating to publication of articles, proof corrections (including for a work on Stendhal, 1913, including an extensive list of corrections), in 1930 declining to pass judgement on Americans, in 1931 on the American publication of his article 'Broaden Europe, or Die!', in 1932 on his appeal on behalf of China during the Japanese invasion, and on other matters.

The two autograph manuscripts comprise a list of writings by Mahatma Gandhi, up to 1922, and a brief text beginning 'La question de l'Education nouvelle ...', April 1928.
