Diego María de la Concepción Juan Nepomuceno Estanislao de la Rivera y Barrientos Acosta y Rodríguez, known as Diego Rivera was a mexican painter, muralist, often referred to as the husband of the incomparable Frida Kahlo, but his own artistic talent, as well as political views and numerous love affairs, deserve special attention. Coming from a wealthy Mexican family, Diego Rivera was at first a communist, then became a consistent Trotskyist, and, despite disagreements with Trotsky, remained a staunch supporter of leftist ideas until the end of his life. David Alfaro Siqueiros (born José de Jesús Alfaro Siqueiros) was a Mexican social realist painter, best known for his large public murals using the latest in equipment, materials and technique.
