19th Century Bust of an Aristocrat in Marble by Joseph Vallet (1841-1920)
A large bust of a noble man from the end of the 19th century in carrara marble signed by French sculptor, Joseph Vallet, who born in La Boisiére du Doré on August 6, 1841, and died in Nantes on April 29, 1920. Joseph Vallet was mainly active as an sculptor in Nantes and in the Brittany region, particularly in the Loire-Atlantique department, where he created a number of altars and contributed statues for churches. This bust boasts an unmatched level of perfectionism and finesse, both in the face and the hair as well as in the details of his costume.
